Tyler tweeted about current American Idol judge, Nicki Minaj and her qualifications stating, “If it was Bob Dylan, Nicki Minaj would have had him sent to the cornfield! Whereas, if it was Bob Dylan with us, we would have brought the best of him out, as we did with Phillip Phillips. Just saying,”
This appropriately angered Minaj to respond calling Tyler bitter over his alleged dismissal from the top rated show tweeting, “I understand you really wanted to keep your job but take that up with the producers. I haven’t done anything to you. That’s a racist comment”
Racist? How was that racist?
Even if you agree the statement was harsh on the part of Tyler, where was it racist?
Minaj went on to explain on a later tweet…
“You assume that I wouldn’t have liked Bob Dylan??? why? black? rapper? what? go f–k yourself and worry about yourself babe,”
Here’s where Tyler makes his point crystal clear by way of Minaj: If darling Nicki understood anything, she’d understand that Bob Dylan isn’t known to be melodious Tyler understands that a judge like Minaj will most likely hail another young, pretty, karaoke singer belting out another tired Whitney Houston ballad and wouldn’t consider nurturing a voice or talent like Dylan’s.
As usual, when someone has no real defense, RACISM!!!!!
Truth is, Steven Tyler, a legend, a star, an icon, knows what he’s talking about and knows Nicki Minaj is no real talent judge or musical mentor. She will certainly base her criticisms of these new hopefuls on what she hears blasting on the radio for 6 months and disappears. Unlike the tunes Aerosmith continues to hear on your local station 20-30 years later.
